June 18 At the beginning of June 2022, the Wasilla Police Department received an anonymous tip about a local couple dealing fentanyl pills at a variety of locations in the Wasilla area. Police began to conduct surveillance on the couple, which revealed that there was a significant amount of people coming and going from the suspect couples residence. Police contacted the suspect female on a traffic stop, impounded her vehicle, and applied for a search warrant to search the vehicle, during which time police located a large some of cash in small denominations, Heroin, and multiple other items consistent with drug distribution. Police then applied for and were granted a search warrant to search the suspect’s residence. As police attempted to serve the search warrant, one of the suspects attempted to flush the drugs down the toilet, but ultimately missed the toilet and dumped at least some of their drugs on the floor and in the trash near the toilet. Over the course of this investigation, police seized approximately $8,000 in cash, 252 suspected fentanyl pills, approximately one half ounce of heroin, a white powder suspected to be fentanyl, one set of body armor, pistol ammo, pistol magazines, and a plethora of evidence related to the distribution of controlled substances. This investigation is on going and charges of tampering with physical evidence and misconduct involving a controlled substance will follow.

June 18 Wasilla Police responded to a Walmart on S Seward Meridian Pky for a report of a theft. Investigation found that Timothy Jones and Stephanie Reem stole $36.49, Jones was additionally found to have returned to the store after being previously advised of a trespass. Jones is charged with Theft 3 and Criminal Trespass 2, Reem is charged with Theft 4. Jones was also found to have an outstanding warrant for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances in the Fifth Degree. Jones was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial. The theft and trespass charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney.

June 18 Wasilla Police responded to a residence off of Holiday Dr for a report of a disturbance. Investigation found that Susan Reft, age 46 of Wasilla, had broken and damaged items belonging to a family member that lived in the residence. Reft was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial on Criminal Mischief 4 (DV) and Theft 3.

June 17 Wasilla Police responded to a Holiday on E Parks Hwy for a report of a theft from the business. Police are investigating.

June 16 Wasilla Police Department received a call from a manager with Krispy Kreme, who was reporting another employee had fallen for a phone scam and left with business money. A total amount that was taken was $1,041.51. Further investigation is ongoing.

June 15 Wasilla Police contacted Shannon Davis, age 35, of Wasilla, after receiving a report of a female slumped over in her vehicle at Fred Meyer of Wasilla. Davis was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance (DUI). Davis was issued a summons and released with a court date.

June 15 Wasilla Police were dispatched to Wasilla Lake Park for reports of a male and female conducting lewd conduct in the public view at the pavilion. Police responded and located the suspects. Investigation revealed that Emery Omiak, 37 of Big Lake had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for failing to remand on 6/8/2022 for original charges of Assault 4 and DUI. He was remanded to Matsu Pretrial where he has over 90 days to serve. Omiak was additionally cited under the City of Wasilla Municipal Code for Lewd Conduct.

June 14 Wasilla Police contacted Jay Boardman, age 44 of Wasilla during a traffic stop. Boardman was found to be in violation of conditions of release. Boardman was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

June 14 Wasilla Police Department responded to the Westside Center for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and interviewed all persons involved. Investigation revealed that Kyla Kelly, age 30 of Wasilla, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Kelly provided a breath sample that tested nearly two times the legal limit. Kelly was issued a criminal summons for DUI and released to a sober/responsible adult.

June 12 Wasilla Police contacted Joseph Link, age 34 of Wasilla, passed out drunk in the front yard of a home he did not live at. Link was found to have an outstanding warrant for Criminal Mischief 5. Link was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

June 12 Wasilla Police responded to Southside Garden Supply for a report of a stolen vehicle. Investigation found that Michael Phillips, age 32 of Wasilla, had stolen the vehicle and then drove it home and parked it in front of his own residence off of Melanie Ave. Phillips was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for vehicle theft 1.

June 10 Wasilla Police responded to MTR impound yard for a report of a male breaking into a vehicle inside the fenced yard. Investigation found that Jeffrey Munholland Jr, age 22 of Wasilla, had entered the yard to retrieve some property from a vehicle that had been impounded earlier by the Alaska State Troopers. Munholland was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance after being contacted by police. Munholland was released on scene and charges for MICS 5 and Criminal Trespass 1 are being forwarded to the Palmer DAs office.

June 10 Wasilla Police responded to Lithia Chevrolet on E Parks Highway for a report of theft. Investigation found that a suspect removed and stole and catalytic converter from a vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

June 4 Wasilla Police responded to Home Depot for a report of a male that Loss Prevention employees recognized that had committed thefts from other stores they work at. Investigation found that Vincent Keller, age 37 of Anchorage, had 2 felony warrants for his arrest. Keller was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial on his warrants where it was found that he was in possession of stolen credit cards and an Alaska identification card. Keller admitted he was going to use the stolen card that did not belong to him to pay for the merchandise he had in the cart when he was stopped at Home Depot. Charges for Fraudulent Use of an Access Device will be forwarded to the Palmer DA’s office.

June 2 Wasilla Police responded to a restaurant on E Palmer Wasilla Highway for a report of broken entrance door. Investigation discovered a possible burglary was attempted. Investigation is ongoing.

May 27 Wasilla Police Department contacted 24 year old Wasilla resident Breanna Leondakos during a warrant arrest. Investigation revealed that Leondakos was in possession of multiple suspected controlled substances. The substances were seized and submitted to the Alaska State Crime Lab for positive identification. Charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office against Leondakos once the substances identity is confirmed.

May 21 Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Mitsubishi Lancer bearing Alaska license plate LAK830. Investigation found that Denali Simpson, age 29 of Wasilla had an active arrest warrant and was in possession of a controlled substance. Simpson was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.

May 21 Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop on a red Ram 2500 bearing Alaska license plate LGY893 located near the intersection of N Lucille St and W Crestwood Ave. Investigation found that Logan Lammers, age 25 of Wasilla was driving under the influence (DUI). Lammers was arrested and transported to the Wasilla Police Department for DUI processing. Lammers was issued a criminal summons and released on his own recognizance.

May 16 Matcom Dispatch Center received a report that 25 year-old Wasilla resident Sherryl Button was driving under the influence of alcohol. Wasilla Police located Button at the Speedway Express on Seward Meridian. Police conducted Button and determined that she was driving under the influence of alcohol. Button was placed under arrest for DUI, after which she provided a sample of her breath that showed a BrAC of .179%. Button was issued a summons to appear at court and transported to MatSu Regional Hospital

May 16 Wasilla Police Department received a report of a hit and run that occurred near Great Clips in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that 44-year-old Wasilla resident Jesse Olson hit the victims vehicle while backing up and fled the scene of the accident. Olson was contacted by police, at which time it was determined that Olson was operating his vehicle under the influence. Olson was arrested and later determined to have a BrAC of .251%. Olson was issued a summons to appear at court and released to a sober family member.

May 13 Wasilla Police responded to a Fred Meyer on E Parks Hwy for a report of shoplifting. Investigation found that Matthias Gibbs, age 24 of Wasilla, was shoplifting merchandise and was in possession of a lost or stolen access device(Case 22-1018). Gibbs was arrested and remanded to MatSu Pretrial.
